Professional Student Chapters
The Department of Mechanical Engineering actively nurtures a culture of innovation, collaboration, and professional growth through its vibrant student chapters affiliated with globally and nationally recognized organizations, including the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE), and the Indian Institute of Welding (IIW). These chapters serve as dynamic platforms for students to engage in technical symposia, hands-on workshops, national and international design competitions, industrial visits, and research-driven projects. Participation in these communities empowers students to cultivate leadership qualities, sharpen their engineering insights, and remain attuned to cutting-edge developments in mechanical and interdisciplinary technologies. Through these affiliations, students gain a competitive edge, bridging the gap between academic learning and real-world application.
Center of Excellence – 3D Printing Lab
As part of its commitment to fostering innovation and advanced technological learning, the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Marri Laxman Reddy Institute of Technology and Management has established a Center of Excellence in 3D Printing, in collaboration with Ideazone 3D. This state-of-the-art lab serves as a hub for innovation, research, and skill development in additive manufacturing. It provides students and faculty with hands-on experience in the latest 3D printing technologies, enabling the design and fabrication of complex components with precision and efficiency. The lab not only supports academic projects and prototyping but also fosters industry collaboration, empowering students to transform creative concepts into tangible engineering solutions. Through this initiative, the department aims to cultivate future-ready professionals equipped with cutting-edge manufacturing competencies.
