Research and Development Cell

Research, innovation, and development are crucial components to improve the quality of instruction. The purpose of research and development initiatives in recent years is to create research culture among the students and faculty by promoting their research and consultancy works in engineering, technology, science, and humanities. This is also aim to inspire, guide and direct the ideas and initiatives towards research projects, publications, and other research related matters.

R&D Cell which is aims to nurture research culture in the institute by promoting research in newly emerging and challenging frontier areas of Engineering, Technology, and Science & Humanities. It encourages the students and faculty to undertake the research in newly emerging frontier areas including multidisciplinary fields. This enhances the general research capability of budding technocrats by way of participating in conferences, seminars, workshops, project competition, etc. Also, Teaching and Research are considered as the twin primary objectives of teacher working in educational institutions/universities with recognized Research Departments. In fact, “publish or perish” has been the unwritten motto in technical institutions.

The Institution has to its credit, over 750+ research publications in International Journals, National Journals, International Conferences and National Conferences. This includes over 400+ research articles and 350+ conference papers listed in the Scopus database. 400+ research articles listed in Web of Science database. 75+ Patents have been published / granted by faculty and students. There are 18 funded research projects of worth 741.13 Lakhs by various government agencies for research schemes.

Objectives of research and development

To create awareness and opportunities in Research and Development among the faculty and students to enhance the research atmosphere in each department

• To motivate the faculty members to improve their knowledge and skills in emerging and challenging frontier areas.
• To encourage staff members and students to publish technical papers for publishing in National and reputed International Conferences/ Journals
• To undertake research and schemes offered by agencies such as DRDO, RCI, DST, AICTE, and UGC, etc.
• To assist for applying and getting funds for conducting Seminar/Workshop/FDP from various available funding agencies
• To inculcate research attitude among the faculty.
• To coordinate faculty level workshops and staff development activities on research-related issue.

Research and Consultancy

The Centre for Research & Consultancy was established to improve the Institute-Industry interaction and provide need-based technology to existing industries. The Centre intends to carry out major consultancy projects, minor projects and testing work. Its aim is to bridge the gap between Industry and Institute and provide the necessary technical support to industries to solve their problems.
