To promote research in various departments of the Institute and to ensure smooth functioning and effective Management of Academic R & D at the institution. Promotion of new areas of Science, technology and management with special emphasis on emerging areas. Formulation of policies relating to different R & D activities.

Functions and Responsibilities:

• To enhance the research ecosystem in the College and to raise its profile by depicting the strengths of the Institution with reference to available infrastructure and expertise that can add to the visibility with the external funding bodies.
• To create awareness among faculty members about the opportunities and avenues available for them towards participating in R&D activities and to encourage faculty members to submit research/ project proposals to various National and International funding bodies.
• To sensitize the faculty and research scholars to publish their research work in reputed national and international journals/conferences.
• To initiate and promote MoU/MoA with industries, R&D organizations for consultancy, collaborative research, collaborative projects, etc and strengthen Industry-Institute- interactions.
• To facilitate faculty members to apply and receive funds for conducting the seminars/workshops from various funding agencies.
• To process matters related to Global Tendering Enquiry.
• To enable IP related activities including protection and management. Filing and approvals for patents filed by the Institution.
• To evolve transparent rules and guidelines for protecting IP and transfer of knowledge base.
• To help faculty members to know the process of converting research output to prototype and in turn into products and the process for submissions of application for IPR.
• To propagate the knowledge of data privacy and data protection laws, regulations, policies, procedures, best practices.
• To establish policies and guidelines including finance management as deemed fit for execution of the research projects and to prescribe application documents for the purpose.
• To conduct workshops and sensitization programs on capacity building in terms of research/consultancy/collaboration and to coordinate with multidisciplinary interest groups to bring in new cross and multi-disciplinary research initiatives
• To arrange guest lecturers under Institute-Industry interactions to promote research on industry needs and to arrange talks and interactions by eminent personalities from Industry, R&D organizations and institutions of repute.

Frequency of Meeting: Minimum 2 times in a Semester or as needed
