Self Learning
Self-Learning
Marri Laxman Reddy Institute of Technology and Management is firmly committed to fostering a culture of lifelong learning by cultivating an academic environment that empowers students to take proactive ownership of their educational journey. Complementing structured classroom instruction, the Institute provides a comprehensive ecosystem of self-directed learning opportunities encompassing digital platforms, experiential programmes, and collaborative initiatives designed to inspire every student to explore, innovate, and realize their full potential at their own pace.
Holistic Curriculum - Learning Beyond the Classroom
The Institute has thoughtfully structured its B. Tech, M. Tech, and MBA programmes to nurture students as well-rounded individuals academically accomplished, socially aware, and professionally equipped. A carefully curated set of institute-wide core courses runs alongside technical and management subjects, granting students the freedom to explore topics beyond the boundaries of their prescribed curriculum.
Value-Enriched Academic Components
- Skill-enhancing value-added courses that expose students to contemporary software and hardware developments outside their standard curriculum.
- Cultural education programmes that cultivate a broad worldview, intercultural sensitivity, and appreciation for human diversity.
- Career development and employment readiness courses aligned with current industry hiring standards and expectations.
- Rural empowerment activities that build social responsibility, leadership, and community engagement.
- Open elective courses enabling cross-disciplinary exploration across engineering, technology, and management domains.
- Social service initiatives that develop empathy, teamwork, and a sense of civic duty among students.
Self-Directed Learning Initiatives
MLRITM embeds purposefully designed curricular components that encourage students to take charge of their own academic growth and develop beyond conventional learning boundaries.
- Tech Talk & Concept Videos: Students present technical topics and create concept videos, promoting peer knowledge exchange and technical communication skills.
- Project Work & Field Study Internships: Foster research orientation, analytical thinking, and hands-on problem-solving capabilities.
- Industry Internships: Immerse students in live professional environments and real-world engineering challenges.
- Build-IT Events: Competitive coding initiatives that sharpen algorithmic reasoning, logical thinking, and programming excellence.
- Innovation & Product Development: Students channel creativity into tangible, market-relevant engineering solutions.
- Seminars & Group Discussions: Develop critical analysis, collaborative thinking, and articulate expression.
- Simulation-Based Labs: Industry-standard software tools used for advanced technical experimentation and skill building.
Students are further encouraged to participate in national-level competitions, hackathons, technical paper presentations, and inter-collegiate events, each providing a meaningful platform to apply knowledge, benchmark capabilities, and build professional networks beyond the campus.
Drishya Shiksha Sangrah (DSS)
Drishya Shiksha Sangrah (DSS) is a curated digital learning repository available on the Institute's official YouTube channel @mlritm2009. It hosts 535 faculty-developed video lectures across 127 subject areas, providing students free and anytime access to quality academic content. The platform supports independent learning through structured and accessible educational resources.
Anvaya (ERP)
Anvaya is MLRITM's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system that serves as a centralised digital platform for managing academic activities across the institution. Faculty utilise Anvaya to conduct assignments, upload course materials, record internal assessment marks, and develop structured course plans, ensuring smooth and organised academic administration. Students can access attendance records, learning materials, and internal marks in real time through the platform, promoting transparency, continuous learning, and academic accountability.
Virtual Labs (V-Labs) — MLRITM as Nodal Centre
MLRITM has been officially designated as a Nodal Centre for Virtual Labs (V-Labs) under the National Mission on Education through ICT (NMEICT), Ministry of Education, Government of India. This recognition places the institute among a select group of institutions entrusted with expanding access to technology-enabled laboratory learning. V-Labs empowers students to conduct experiments, complete laboratory coursework, and execute their academic projects entirely online, eliminating the constraints of time, location, and physical lab availability.
Our Approach to Teaching & Learning
At MLRITM, self-learning is not an optional add-on; it is a core institutional value that runs through every programme, platform, and initiative the institute offers. By equipping students with access to world-class digital resources, experiential challenges, and a culture that rewards curiosity and initiative, MLRITM ensures that every graduate leaves not just with a degree, but with the mindset, skills, and confidence of a lifelong learner ready to adapt, innovate, and lead in a world that never stops evolving.
