Board of Studies

The Board of Studies of the department is responsible for designing syllabi for various courses, aligning them with the institute's objectives, stakeholder interests, and national requirements. These syllabi are prepared for review and approval by the Academic Council. Additionally, the Board recommends methodologies for innovative teaching and evaluation techniques while coordinating research, teaching, extension activities, and other academic endeavors within the department or college.

Functions and Responsibilities

  • To develop contemporary, industry-relevant syllabi that address the evolving professional, technological, and societal needs at the local, regional, national, and global levels.
  • To design and structure syllabi in alignment with the Vision, Mission, Program Outcomes, Program Specific Outcomes, and Course Outcomes of the department.
  • To approve the overall curriculum framework, course structure, and academic content for all programs offered by the department.
  • To recommend and promote innovative pedagogical approaches, advanced teaching-learning practices, and effective evaluation methods to enhance academic quality and learner engagement.
  • To coordinate academic, research, consultancy, and related scholarly activities to strengthen the academic and professional growth of the department and the institute.
  • To propose the introduction of new courses and programs in emerging and interdisciplinary domains.
  • To recommend measures to enhance the quality and standards of teaching, training, and research across all programs.
  • BoS is the topmost academic body at the department level.
